Why is it important to have a good AI model for in store sales prediction?

I own a single store, not a large franchise, and prior to coronavirus shutdowns we were doing just fine with manual sales predictions. Is it worth it for a small store owner to have an AI model for in-store sales predictions? (Or any AI predictive models). Is it only worth it in light of coronavirus shutdowns, as that has changed buyer behavior so drastically and will continue to do so?
