Risk Management Post-Housing Market Collapse

While it’s easy to say that hindsight is 20/20, it still seems obvious that things were going to go badly wrong considering some of the practices leading up to the 2008 housing market collapse. Yet, I see evidence that similar mistakes are being made in the automotive market (for example, subprime loan issuance). How do real estate and related industries manage risk now? Does increased reliance on AI models make the industry more secure?
